Trabajo y Cheque. Work and Check.

El lunes 6 de febrero Claudia recibió el primer cheque de sueldo de su vida y como es tradición en Chile, tenía que pagar el piso con el Ken.

On Monday, February 6th Claudia received the first check of salary in her life and as it is tradition in Chile, she had to give a gift or take out for dinner her family and her loved one. As her family is not in the USA, Ken was the only one that received that privilege.


Ken tuvo que elegir a que lugar le gustaria ir, porque este era un regalo para él. Así, él decidio que le gustaría ir a comer sushi (comida japonesa) al centro de Palo Alto.

So Ken had to pick where he would like to go, because this was a present for him. At the end he decided that he wanted to have sushi.

Fueron ahí el viernes 10 de febrero, porque el Ken sale temprano de clase ese día. Estaba soleado y muy lindo en el centro de Palo Alto. Había harta gente almorzando a esa hora en los distintos restorantes que hay en la avenida principal.

They went on Friday, February 10th, because Ken finished his classes early that day. It was sunny and pretty in the center of Palo Alto. There was a lot of people having lunch at that time in the differents restaurants that are on the main avenue.

El lugar al que fueron Claudia y Ken era un pequeño restoran japonés, manejado y atendido por sus propios dueños, los cuales eran muy simpáticos. Los chiquillos pidieron dos rondas de sushi. En la primeran comieron sushi de jaiva/palta y de espárragos fritos. En la segunda comieron sushi de salmón y de palta. También tomaron te helado japonés.

The place where Claudia and Ken ate was a small Japanese restaurant managed and attended by its own owners, who are very nice. We asked for two rounds of sushi. In the first one we ate sushi of crab/avocado and sushi of fried esparragus. In the second one we ate sushi of salmon and sushi of avocado.. We also drank japanese iced tea.

Quedaron super contentos porque la comida era muy rica.

We were very happy because the food was really good.

Después del almuerzo los chiquillos caminaron de vuelta a la estación de buses de stanford cerca del tren. En el camino hasta ahí, se detuvieron en una panadería que vendía varios tipos de "bagel" (panes redondos con un ollito al centro). Compraron dos bagel con chips de chocolate para comerlos a la hora de once tostados con mantequilla (Hmmm!).

After lunch we walked back to the Stanford bus station near to the train. On the way there, we stopped in a bakery that has several kind of bagel. We bought chocolate chips ones to eat them at the tea time with butter (Yummy!)

Como Claudia y Ken se olvidaron de llevar la camara de fotos al restoran de sushi se sacaron esta foto para mostrar de que porte son los sushi.

As we forgot to bring our photo camara to the sushi place, we took this picture to show how big sushi are.
