¡Claudia Consigue Un Trabajo! Claudia Got A Job!

Después de terminar su examén de grado la Claudia empezó a buscar un trabajo a través de varias fuentes incluyendo el internet y el centro de carreras de la universidad de Stanford. La parte más dificil fue escribir el primer curriculum de nada. La Claudia fue a hablar con un consejero de la universidad que le ayudó harto con el curriculum y también con unas cartas de presentación.

After finishing her final exam to finish her degree, Claudia began looking for a job through various sources including the internet and the career center at Stanford. The most difficult part for her was to write her first resume from scratch. Claudia went to talk to a career conselor from the university who helped her a lot with the resume and also with some of her cover letters.

La Claudia postuló a algunos trabajos que le parecía bien y uno le ofreció una entrevista(fue el primer trabajo a que postuló). Llamaron por telefono y la Claudia habló con ellos por un rato. El Ken no estuvo en ese momento porque le pone nervioso a la Claudia. Le fue bien y dijeron que iban a llamar despues de Navidad o el año nuevo para avisarle.

Claudia applied to some jobs that seemed good to her and one offered her an interview(it was the first one she applied to). They called and Claudia talked to them for awhile. Ken wasn't there for the interview because he always makes Claudia nervious. It went well and they said they would call to let her know after Christmas or the New Year.

Todo el esfuerzo resultó el día después de que fuimos a San Francisco. La Claudia recibió un correo electronico que decía que llamara a la oficina del lugar que le entrevistó la semana pasada. ¡Llamó y le ofrecieron el trabajo! Lo aceptó casi al tiro.

All of her effort paid off the day after we went to San Francisco. Claudia received an email that asked her to call the office of the place where she was interviewed the week before. She called and they offered her a job! She accepted it almost right away.

Celebramos harto. Salimos a comer esa noche a un lugar que está cerca de aquí.

We celebrated a lot. We went out to eat that night at a place near here.


El trabajo es con una organización(National Resource Defense Council) que se preocupa del medio ambiente. La Claudia va a estar trabajando con su grupo que se preocupa de los latinos. Su trabajo pricipal va a ser el diseño de una pagina web hecha para latinos y su lanzamiento a la comunidad de latinos en Estados Unidos. Empieza el 10 de enero y vamos a ver que pasa.

The job is with an environmental organization(National Resource Defense Council). Claudia is going to be working with their Latino Advocacy group. Her principal job is going to be the design and launch of a website specifically for latinos in the US. She begins January 10th and we'll see what happens.
