Arreglos de Casa. House Arrangements

Esta semana ha sido una semana más o menos tranquila. No hemos hecho tanto aparte de estudiar y ordenar la casa. Fuimos al cine que está en el campus el domingo. También, hoy día fuimos al mall que está cerca o tal vez en el campus de Stanford. Es un mall super cuico y muy caro para estudiantes o casi cualquier persona. Vimos que hay otros lugares cerca donde comprar y vamos a explorar más después del viaje de la Claudia.

This week has been a more or less peaceful one. We haven't done too much besides studying and putting the house in order. We went to the movie on campus on Sunday. Also, today we went to the mall which is either on campus or really close to campus. It's a really uppity mall and too expensive for students or almost anybody. We've seen other places nearby to shop and we're going to explore more once Claudia comes back from Chile.

La Claudia también conoció y se hizo amigas con una niña, Nancy, que vive en nuestro piso. Nosostros tuvimos una cena del piso hace una semana y conocimos a casi todos nuestros vecinos. Claudia y Nancy salieron hoy para tomar cafe y conversaron harto. Conocimos a su esposo también durante la cena del piso y parece super simpático también.

Claudia also met and made friends with one of the women, Nancy, who lives on our floor. We had a floor dinner about a week ago and we meet almost all of our neighbors. Claudia and Nancy went to have coffee today and talked a lot. We also met her husband during the floor dinner and he seems really nice as well.

El departamento por esta semana ha sido un disastre pero estamos mejorando la condición y el estílo del departamento.

The apartment this week has been a disaster but we have been improving the state and the style of the apartment.


Hemos comprado varias cosas para decorar la casa y están por llegar en la próxima semana. Si la Claudia no está, el Ken va a esperar su vuelta para abrir y usar las cosas. Pedimos ropa para la cama, cosas para el baño, y algunos muebles chicos. Todo tiene un estílo natural diría, o sea, todo de la naturaleza como animales, plantas, y cosas por el estilo.

We have bought some stuff to decorate the house and they should be arriving sometime in the next week. If Claudia isn't here, Ken will wait for her return to open and use the stuff. We ordered stuff for the bed, the bathroom, and some small furniture. Everything has a natural style meaning stuff from nature like animals, plants, etc.

Ayer y hoy día la Claudia se preocupó de arreglar los muebles de la casa y buscar las cosas que nos faltaban. Tuvimos varias ideas pero decidimos los temas importantes y el arreglo básico de las piezas. El dormitorio es distinto ahora. Cambiamos la orientación de la cama y el escritorio. Ahora, el escritorio está cerca de la puerta y muy grande. Tiene espacio para que dos personas trabajen o para dos computadores. Nos va a servir a los dos. No hay fotos de esta pieza por ahora.

Yesterday and today, Claudia took care of arranging the furniture of the house and looking for the stuff that's missing. We had lots of ideas but decided at the important ideas and the basic arrangement of the rooms. The bedroom is different now. We changed the orientation of the bed and the desk. Now, the desk is closer to the door and completely expanded. It has room for two people to work or for two computers. It will be a space for both of us. There are no pictures of the bedroom for right now.

El living ha cambiado harto y está empezando a ver muy bien y interesante. Vamos a tener una parte más o menos privada con el televisor, el sillón, y algunos muebles. Ahí va a sentir casi como otra pieza. Faltan algunos muebles para cumplir el estílo pero tenemos el plan de comprarlos el sabádo.

The living room has changed a lot and it is starting to look really good and interesting. We are going to have a part of the room more or less private with a television, couch, and some other furniture. There it is going to feel like another room. We're missing some furniture to complete the style but we plan on buying them on Saturday.



En las otras partes de living, también tenemos algunas ideas. Estamos usando un librero para guardar algunas cosas y como un bar chico por ahora. Tal vez no va a estar donde está en la foto ahora porque el Ken es muy torpe y puede botar las cositas de ahí cuando pasa con su bicicleta. La mesa chica del living tiene un lugar por ahora pero lo más probable es que va a cambiar. También, tenemos un parte de la pieza que está por definir. Ahora, tiene las cajas que quedan pero pronto nos vamos a deshacer de esas cajas. Vamos a ver que pasa con ese lugar.

En the other parts of the living room, we also have some ideas. We are using a bookshelf to store some things and as a small bar for now. Perhaps it will not stay where it is in the picture right now because Ken is very clumsy and could not the stuff over when he passes it with his bike. The coffee table has a place for now but most likely it will change places again. Also, we have a part of the room that we still have to define. Now, it has the boxes which are left but soon we will unpack everything and get rid of the boxes. We are going to see what happens with that part of the room.



Hemos tenido mucho éxito en estos días con ordenar y ver que queremos para el fúturo en el departamento. Vimos que también tenemos un lugar en la bodega del edificio para guardar cosas. Ahí podemos poner cajas, maletas, otras cosas que no usamos mucho con seguridad. Antés de que la Claudia visita Chile deberiamos tener una idea de como se van a ver las cosas.

We have had a lot of success these days in organizing and seeing what we want for the apartment in the future. We found out that we also have space in a storage closet on our floor. There, we can store boxes, suitcases, and other things we don't use much safely. Before Claudia leaves for Chile, we should have an idea of how things are going to look.
