La semana fue una semana típica aparte de algunas novedades. El Ken fue a clase y hizo su tarea. La Claudia estudió para su prueba que viene muy pronto.

The week was more or less typical aside from a few interesting things. Ken went to class and did his homework. Claudia studied for her test which is really soon.

Durante la semana tuvimos una practica de urgencia. Creo que en Chile se llama Operación Daisi. La Claudia pensó que fue de verdad y nos fuimos rápido del departamento. Ken pensaba que podría ser una practica y estaba más tranquilo. Bajamos y nos dieron linternas gratis para emergencias como premio.

During the week we had an evacuation drill. Claudia thought it was real and we left the apartment quickly. Ken had an idea that it was probably a drill and was calmer. We went down the stairs and they gave us free flashlights as a prize.

El viernes, compramos bicicletas para poder navegar el campus y ir a algunas partes cerca. Toda la gente de Stanford usa bicicleta para ir a clase, hacer tramites, y juntarse. Nos van a servir harto a los dos. Al Ken porque puede ir a clase en 5 minutos por bicicleta en vez de 20 minutos a pie. La Claudia también puede ir a muchas actividades y cosas después de su prueba sin demorarse mucho.

Friday, we bought bicycles in order to get around the campus and go to some nearby places. Everyone at Stanford uses bikes to get to class, run errands, and get together. They're going to serve both of us very well. Ken can go to class in 5 minutes on bike instead of 20 minutes on foot. Claudia can also use it to go to campus activities and other stuff after her test without spending too much time walking.



Esta semana es la semana de la prueba de la Claudia. Tiene que dar el examen en San Francisco. Ya tiene un hotel que queda una cuadra del consulado de Chile y también cerca hay un cheesecake factory que es un restaurante que se especializa en cheesecake. El Ken le va a acompañar en su viaje a San Francisco el martes. El plan es llegar temprano, ir al hotel, buscar la embajada, y ir a comer tranquilos. El Ken ha hecho la mayoría de su trabajo de la semana este fin de semana para poder ir tranquilo. La Claudia se va a relajar el martes para estar muy bien el miercoles para la prueba.

This week is the week of Claudia's exam for the university. She has to take the exam in San Francisco. She already has a hotel that is one block from the consulate and close to a Cheesecake Factory. Ken is going to accompany here in her trip to San Fracisco on Tuesday. The plan is to arrive early, check-in to the hotel, find the consulate, and go out to eat calmly. Ken has done the majority of his school work this weekend in order to go with no unfinished obligations. Claudia will relax on Tuesday in order to be calm and ready for the first part on the test on Tuesday.

El examen tiene cuarto partes. Dos partes el miercoles y dos partes el jueves. La Claudia vuelve el jueves en la tarde y nuestro plan es tener un asado afuera. Aquí cerca del edificio donde vivimos hay un lugar donde hacer asados con una parilla y mesas para sentarse. Compramos carbón, carne, vino bueno, y todas las cosas para hacer un asado.

The exam has four parts. Two parts are on Wednesday and two parts are on Thursday. Claudia comes back on Thursday in the afternoon and our plan is to have a cookout. Close to our building where we live, there is a place to have cookouts and picnic. There's picnic tables and charcoal grills. We already bought charcoal, steaks, good wine, and all of the stuff to have a good cookout.

Esas son las novedades de la semana pasada y la semana que viene. Vamos a sacar fotos de nuestras adventuras y publicarlos en la mitad de la semana.
